Other Details to Note

The property is a large working country estate with a vineyard, orchard, and extensive landscaping that require regular maintenance. To keep everything beautiful and functional, our caretaker lives in a unit on the other side of the property, over 150 feet from the main house, and additional team members visit occasionally. The caretaker and team are informed of guest schedules and aim to work when guests are out or least likely to be disturbed, but you may notice some activity on the grounds, especially during longer stays. Thanks for understanding — it’s all part of what keeps this place special! Please note that AT&T is the only available cellular service provider on the property. If you're not an AT&T subscriber, don't worry! You can connect your smartphone to our WiFi service and enable WiFi Calling to make and receive calls. For your convenience and/or emergency 911 calls, we also provide VoIP landline phones throughout the house - you'll find one in the kitchen, one in the office, and another in the master bedroom. As a private home with a shared network, WiFi access requires entry of a name & email to maintain network security and protect against malicious activity (e.g., fraud, spam, illegal content). Guests may opt-in to receive updates on future stays and winery offerings. Optional amenities such as a private massage, private chef experience, or wine tasting are available for additional fees. Wine purchases are handled separately by our licensed winery, per legal requirements. At the Vineyard Chateau, we take your privacy seriously while ensuring the safety of our property. We have security cameras installed around the exterior of the home, specifically at the driveway, entrances, pool, and garage. These cameras record video only (no audio) to a local DVR. Please note, we access the footage solely in response to security or safety issues reported by you or in cooperation with law enforcement. The purpose of these cameras is to protect the home when it's not occupied, not to monitor our guests. Property Registration Number VR240011

No diapers in the pool. 8. No street clothes or cutoffs in the pool. 9. Stay off the cover. 10. Cover must be fully open while in use, and fully closed when not in use. Hot Tub: The hot tub is available year round. If you use it, please respect the rules: 1. Use at your own risk. 2. Shower before entering. 3. Children must be accompanied by an adult. 4. No children under 5. 5. No food or drinks in the water. 6. No soap, oils, or additives allowed in the water. 7. Stay off the cover. 8. Cover must be fully open while in use, and fully closed when not in use. Fire Safety: This property survived three wildfires, one a close call, so open flames (e.g., candles, fires) are prohibited indoors and outdoors, except: 1. The kitchen stove top. 2. The BBQ and smoker by the pool. If a neighbor reports visible flames to 911, a mandatory “wildland response” (with a $25K+ charge) is required by law, for which guests are responsible, even without damage. Please exercise extreme caution. Security: Please close & lock all windows and doors when you leave the property. While you’re a guest in our home, you’re responsible for the security of the home. Nature: Nestled near the Ventana Wilderness, the property hosts diverse wildlife, including birds of prey, wild turkeys, squirrels, chipmunks, skunks, foxes, bobcats, mountain lions, tarantulas, garter snakes, king snakes, gopher snakes, rattlesnakes, and spiders (including black widows). This natural setting is a draw for nature lovers, but we disclose all species for transparency, as some guests may be surprised by occasional encounters. The house is secured to keep wildlife outside, and we prepare it thoroughly for your stay. If you spot a critter indoors, please contact us as described on our welcome letter for humane removal assistance. We appreciate your understanding of this rustic environment. Bubbler Tub: If you choose to use the “champagne bubbler” bath tub in the master bedroom, please respect the rules: 1. No colored bath oils/products allowed in the tub (it’s sensitive to staining). 2. Do not operate the bubbler until the tub has been filled with water. 3. Keep the water level below the in-tub controls. 4. Drain the tub immediately after use. 5. No more than 2 people in the tub. Kitchenware: Our indoor and outdoor kitchens feature high-end tools like All Clad pots & pans, Lodge cast iron pans, J.A. Henckels knives, KitchenAid stand mixer, Vitamix blender, and Weber Performer grill. Use with care, hand wash and dry only; wash cast iron in hot water without soap. Be Water Wise: The house uses a private well with pristine water, but supply is limited, so please conserve water. Use the kitchen’s reverse osmosis tap for drinking, though all water is safe. Septic System: Flush only toilet paper; avoid dumping grease, chemicals, or non-septic-safe items in drains. Plumber fees start at $250. Cleaning: Your stay includes cleaning, excluding dishes or deep cleaning due to excess use. Additional cleaning incurs a $250 minimum fee. Our Personal Belongings: Having lived here for 10 years, we secure our belongings (toiletry tubs, zip-tied closets/cabinets, garage) for privacy. Please respect these spaces.

We stayed a week and had so much fun and relaxation at Aubrey and Daniel’s house. We took a lot of of the recommendations from their house book, and they steered us in the right direction. It was nice to visit an off the beaten path location with well laid out amenities - and most of all it was a pleasure to have such fabulous accommodations in Carmel Valley, a really special and beautiful community. We look forward to visiting again.

The house and its surroundings are truly wonderful, I have never been at such a beautiful and fully equipped house before. Lots of seatings in and around the house, overlooking the wineyard, overlooking the pool, out in the garden. It is a beautiful drive from Carmel Valley as well, a perfect Place for rest and to visit places like Carmel at Sea and Point Lobos.

It was such a great house and stay! It was so quiet and peaceful and the house is gorgeous. Any issue that came up, and they were minor, was addressed right away. It wasn’t an issue for us but future guests need to know that it’s a good 20-min drive to downtown Carmel Valley so it’s pretty remote.
